Die Ahnung
Let me start with the 'we' of the whole story.
We all knew about it.
Some knew it earlier than others, even talked about it,
with eyes gone wild and nervous fingers, laughing about the irony of singing birds.
Although they knew they still did not know how it would be when everything would finally become real.
So they knew and at the same time they didn't know.
The ones who knew earlier were surprised that the ones who knew it only at the very end, seemed to cope even better with reality because it consumed all their energies to realize what was going on when it was already too late.
